Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha, in a press conference a day after the protest, stated that the crime police used violence against the protesters and will be held accountable. Berisha described it as a protest of conscience, while emphasizing that citizens triumphed in the streets and squares of Tirana.
"The protest was dominated by young people, they will be the ones who will overthrow this criminal organization. The crime police used brutal violence against the protesters," Berisha said.
While describing as a white omen for Albanians the fact that the protest was dominated by youth, by the courage, energy and determination of young people, Berisha said that it will be the young people and their generation who will overthrow and remove this criminal organization from power.
" Yesterday, the drug police, under the orders of Edi Rama, commanded by the crime branch, the Gys Agast branch, used brutal violence against protesters.
They attacked with all means, using expired tear gas, which under international conventions constitutes a war poison and can never be used against protests.
The tear gas had expired for three years. And after it expires, it is known to transform into other poisons that cause serious damage to systems, but can also cause loss of vision. Water cannons and other means were used.
Peaceful protesters were beaten with batons and arrested, brutally detained in acts that constitute crimes against humanity.
A 10-year-old child leaving the mosque, 10 years old, Romeo, and he had nothing to do with the protest. He had come with tasks assigned to him by his family. And they took him in the most shameful, most criminal way.
They will long pray for those bandits, five men who dragged a 10-year-old child. They took him to the police station. They violated international conventions.
The true face of Edi Rama, who, even when it comes to his chair, doesn't stop at crimes in front of children.
They attacked citizens who had no connection to the protest. They behaved brutally and unworthy of the deputies.
They attacked several MPs, Luciano Boçi, the party's vice president, Xhelal Mziun, and Besart Xhaferri.
"They attacked like drug addicts. These are only acts of people in terrible panic. Of people without hope. An attempt to cover up the crimes, the monstrous crimes of Edi Rama, Belinda Balluku, Linda of AKSH and Linda of Surrel, Gys Agas and others ," Berisha said.
He said that yesterday, for three hours, the brave insurgents took control of Tirana, its boulevards, its squares.
" Great respect to all those citizens, boys, girls, men and women, elderly, who from Tirana and all over Albania protested in the most determined way against the rotten renaissance, against Edi Rama's criminal organization.
Their protest had nothing to do with the buildings, nor with the constitutional institutions. The protest, the revolt, the anger of Albanian citizens yesterday and that is raging today in all four corners of the country and in the diaspora, has nothing to do with Ramaduro, his thefts of hundreds of millions and billions of euros, his connections with organized crime, drug cartels.
Yesterday the regime was shaken to its foundations. Yesterday the citizens triumphed in the streets and squares of Tirana. They became the voice of conscience of honest people, who will never agree with a government with terrible ties to drugs and crime.
They will never agree with a government that does not come from their will, but from an electoral farce. They will never agree with a government that steals 97% of their taxes and, in a crazy way, all public assets.
Yesterday they were the very conscience of the nation in battle. They conveyed the message to every Albanian that we are not fighting for ourselves, that we are not fighting for Sali Berisha, that we are not fighting for the Democratic Party, nor for other parties, that we are fighting for human conscience, for human dignity, for the national interest.
We are fighting for those of you who are watching us on television, we are fighting for those of you who may not like the protest. In fact, we are fighting and will fight for every Albanian. This is the uniqueness of this protest.
"This is the protest of conscience and there is nothing more powerful, there is nothing more invincible, there is nothing more invincible than what stems from human conscience ," said Berisha.
