Anti-corruption resolution, Qefalia: The goal is not to affect justice reform,
Socialist Party MP Xhemal Qefaliaj has stated that the purpose of the anti-corruption resolution is not to affect the reform of Justice.

With 76 votes in favor of the socialists, the Assembly approved on Monday the Resolution on deepening reforms for good governance, the rule of law and anti-corruption. The resolution, proposed by the socialists, did not receive a single vote from the opposition.

Qefalia said this is done to guarantee that any force that will come to power after 2025 does not put their hands in this reform.

"The essence is the fight against corruption, so the 8 points that are described in this resolution are related to the evaluation of the reform in Justice in 2026. This resolution, one of the points it has, is that whatever the majority that will come to power after elections of 2025, do not put your hands in this reform. The goal is not to affect the law reform as", said Qefalia.

The socialist deputy added that he is convinced that the opposition will also find its place in the commission.

"In no case will there be any intervention to undo what has been approved in the reform of justice. I am convinced that the opposition will find its place in the commission. Such a module will be found that will make the opposition present. Taking into consideration not to interfere with the institutions to function normally in order to have a mechanism to push forward all the processes so that Albania continues and fulfills all other criteria and makes the country equal and a member of the EU " , said Qefalia.

"The point is to go beyond the electoral boundaries beyond the way the ruling party is. Anyone who will be in the elections of 2025 tomorrow. This is the goal, not the goal of presenting a draft. It will be a consultative commission. If there is a necessity for the intervention in the legal framework, of course the intervention will be done. There is no reason for the SP to be afraid of SPAK as long as it has been the initiator of the Justice Reform. We are not about to undo what we did in 2016" , added Qefalia.

Asked about the diaspora vote, Qefalia said that there is mistrust between the parties, they are often prejudiced about the outcome of the elections.

"The diaspora should vote as it has an extraordinary contribution to Albania. I think there is mistrust between the parties here, as we have often been prejudiced about the outcome of the elections. There is mistrust between the parties. Seeing the successful meetings of Rama, the fear has increased" , said Qefalia.
