British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, in a communication to the media, has said that around 1,800 Albanians have been expelled from the agreement with Albania.

He also said camps for asylum seekers at former military bases in Wethersfield and Scampton would open soon, with "hundreds" moving in over the summer and almost 3,000 being settled in those sites by the fall.
He said the French stopped 33,000 people crossing the Channel last year, 40% more than the year before, and that interceptions this year by the French have "increased significantly".
Sunak further pointed out that the rejection rate for asylum seekers claiming to be victims of modern slavery has tripled since the evidentiary requirements have been tightened.
He claimed he was still on track to clear the required number of legacy asylum claims pending a decision.
