Former Prime Minister Berisha said that the establishment of the vital minimum of 200 euros per person is an act that the government should take as soon as possible.
According to him, it is not a figure that burdens the state budget. Citing a report of the KLSH, Berisha said that 130 billion ALL were stolen over the course of 1 year. Under these conditions, for Berisha, if only 40% of this fund were saved, the vital minimum would be set starting from next month.
"Setting the vital minimum, calculated by the People's Advocate and with the help of experts, i.e. setting it according to this figure is the only necessary response to the alarming situation created by the increase in the prices of the basic products of citizens' lives.
DP has submitted the law on the living wage to the parliament, it will make all efforts for the voting of this law, which is completely affordable, KLSH has found that in 1 year the government has stolen 130 billion ALL, if only 40% of this the fund would be saved, the vital minimum would be set starting from next month", said Berisha.
In a press conference, he added that voting in parliament on this proposal made by the Democratic Party is an obligation, especially after the decision to increase the salaries of deputies.
"A touchstone for all members of parliament, is an act with which they prove their sensitivity towards Albanian voters, but also a public apology for the doubling and stratospheric increase of members, an act which cannot be reconciled unless some important votes are made in favor of the citizens", concluded Berisha.
