Prime Minister Edi Rama's statement on the increase in pensions is another deception for expert Kujtim Hoxha. He explained his reasoning, emphasizing that the increase of 600-1800 lek in pensions is neither indexation nor an increase, but is the distribution of the year-end bonus.
"The only positive step is that he has included the bonus in the draft law. As for the standards that the prime minister claims to be adding from the beginning of 2026 onwards to give them a bonus. It is a bonus equal to what is received at the end of the year, but it is distributed throughout the year. Pensioners benefit from 1/12 of the bonus they receive today, they cannot receive more. And to say that pensioners will receive from 6 thousand to 18 thousand old lek each month, this is scaled according to certain groups of the type of pension; old age, family or disability, it is unfortunate that people are being deceived by giving 6 thousand lek to disabled pensioners, in addition to the pension in the form of a bonus so that they have it permanently. This is the next fraud that has put experts in competition to make this smoke and confuse people's minds. This 6-18 thousand old lek is not part of the pension because it is not with the income of the Social Security Institute, but with the national income and here "The distribution is done. 100 million lek for 2026, this will not increase progressively. It will not increase every month," Hoxha said on Puls with Bruna Çifligu.
Expert Hoxha said that this amount does not help pensioners, as he asked Prime Minister Rama about the living wage.
"This is the problem because with this reform in pensioner income, our prime minister failed to create a scheme to give hope to pensioners, because he does nothing with 6 thousand lek or 18 thousand when citizens, when they go to the market, see that with this money they cannot fill a bag with products in the market or receive medical service. If I had the prime minister directly, I would tell him when you will issue the vital minimum so that the needy feel that they are protected by someone. This is the government's duty."
According to him, the head of government does not know the health insurance scheme and does not consult with the appropriate experts.
"I come to the conclusion that the head of government does not know the social insurance scheme. There are people who do not tell him the truth, or they do not know either, he does not sit at the table with specialists to influence with dignity in solving acute problems. Currently, this scheme has certain articles that demotivate the citizen. The citizen is not inclined to pay with a real salary."
