Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has shared photos from the meeting at the European Political Community Summit taking place in Tirana.
In a post on social media, Vučić says he will represent Serbia's interests, in line with Serbia's independent decision-making policy and strategic responsibility.
He also states that Serbia can do a lot and progress on the European path by the end of the year, and that there is a chance to reawaken hope in Serbia for a European future.
"Today in Tirana, we discuss the most important challenges facing our continent – peace, security, democratic stability and the future of Europe. And this time I have the honor to represent the interests of Serbia, in accordance with our policy of independent decision-making and strategic responsibility.
I believe that by the end of the year we can do a lot and make progress on the European path, and that there is a chance to rekindle hope in Serbia for a European future.
We also talk about Europe's place in the new world and how to see reality in challenging times and make decisions in a well-thought-out and long-term way. The opportunities in Europe are changing, which gives us an additional opportunity to progress in Europe, but also allows us to work harder with other partners.
My main message remains the same – we need talks, accountability and a healthy peace. For Serbia, peace is not only a choice, but also an obligation, and we will not waver on this path. President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, at the Summit of the European Political Community in Tirana," Vučić writes.
