The leader of the Opportunity Party reacted to the accusations of the Socialists, publishing documents and a video explaining the investment in the villa sold in Italy.
After several days of public debate over the sale of a villa in Italy for 15 million euros, the leader of the Opportunity Party, Agron Shehaj, has reacted by publishing documents and a video, providing clarifications on the investment and transaction.
The reaction comes after the head of the Socialist Party parliamentary group, Taulant Balla, and other socialist representatives leveled accusations against Shehaj, raising doubts about the source of his wealth and talking about money laundering. Shehaj has denied these allegations.
In a post on social media, the leader of the Opportunity Party says he has made "total transparency", publishing Italian documents that, according to him, prove that it is a legal and declared investment.
According to Shehaj, in 2019 he bought an old villa of about 250 square meters for 2.9 million euros. A year later he received a building permit, demolished the existing building and invested about 4 million euros in the construction of a new villa of about 500 square meters. He says the property was sold in 2025 for 15 million euros, while in 2026 he bought another villa where he will continue the investments.
" There is no more transparent and clean investment than the sale of my villa in Italy. Every step of this investment has been declared according to the law, both in Albania and in Italy. In Italy, not a single cent goes unverified. Every euro is documented ," writes Shehaj.
He adds that he created his wealth before entering politics and that he has nothing to hide, as he challenges socialists to come out and show how they got rich.
