The Minister of the Interior, Taulant Balla, has stated that the problem of the distribution of narcotics in schools is a challenge that "we will overcome in the entire territory of the country".
During a visit to the high school "Qazim Shehu" in Kukës, Minister Balla said that the safety of children and students in schools will be a priority.
"I am here with the Prefect and local leaders, AKU, ISHP, the Municipality of Kukes, with whom we want a new approach to take place in terms of school security. Parents, grandparents, when they bring their children to school, they trust us, they are in our trust.
Teachers, school leaders, the Security Officer, the Chief of the Police Station, or the Police Director, I too, must do the duty that the people charge us, to guarantee the safety of every child. The child, while coming to school, may fall prey to miscreants. The distribution of narcotics remains a phenomenon.
Even here in Kukës, there are cases of people caught by the Police for distributing drugs in schools, but there are also phenomena such as bullying, etc., emphasized Minister Balla.
While he added that: "We have a lot of work to do. Under the direction of the Prefect, the Task Force will come to life that sets the security perimeter, with an increased presence of the Police to guarantee security. The problem of narcotics in schools is not only in the center of Tirana, it is a challenge that we will win in the entire territory of the country", referring to the police operation "Tempulli".
He asked all the institutions to have a great commitment, to create a different climate, unsuitable for the cultivation of illegality and being on the side of the students.
