The lawyer of the former mayor of Durrës Vangjush Dako, Petrit Ismaili, gave a statement this evening from the Police Directorate of Tirana.
He accused SPAK of not being able to maintain balance under media, political or international pressure and taking hasty measures. He also added that the charges against Dako are "Abuse of duty" for two different cases, while he said that the Special Prosecutor's Office has left him in prison.
" The decision of the first-instance court for corruption and organized crime has just been executed, which sentenced Dako to prison. The accusations are one, for abuse of office in two cases, a report by some residents of a building who claim that there was a violation, and one on the eve of the 2021 elections, by Ferdinad Xhaferri.
I was inside the case for the first charge. I declare in advance that the Special Prosecutor's Office is unable to maintain balance under media, political or international pressure and is taking measures in my opinion hasty ", he said.
