MIT raises doubts about Albanian minister's credibility due to oath as Greek citizen and restricts all sensitive military information
Sources within the Ministry of Defense confirm that Turkey has blocked the sending of all classified information to Minister Pirro Vengu, passing it only through Edi Rama. The suspicions are related to his origin and oath as a Greek citizen, which the MIT considers a threat to military security and strategic relations between Turkey and Albania.
Although the Albanian government has signed 35 agreements with Turkey and Edi Rama calls Turkey a trusted and strategic partner, President Erdogan has created strong reservations in relations of mutual military trust.
Confidential information received by "Pamphlet" from sources within the Ministry of Defense revealed that the Turkish Ministry of Defense has restricted sensitive military information to the Albanian Minister of Defense, Pirro Vengu.
Seven months ago, Turkish Minister Yaşar Güler ordered his cabinet not to share classified information with his Albanian counterpart Pirro Vengu, despite obligations in the Turkey-Albania bilateral military data exchange protocol and obligations within the NATO alliance.
The Turkish authorities are only following the information channel with Prime Minister Edi Rama, while Minister Pirro Vengu has been restricted due to lack of trust, as he has taken the state oath as a Greek and has Greek nationality. This fact makes the Turkish authorities have no guarantee of maintaining the confidentiality of the information they convey.
We cannot claim that Minister Pirro Vengu remains loyal to Greek nationality and the oath as a Greek citizen, or that he serves as an informant for the military interests of Greece, because this would be a serious accusation for the Albanian state. But Turkish Minister Yaşar Güler, on the orders of President Erdogan, has limited classified military information to Minister Vengu as a precautionary measure to avoid the possible leakage of data in favor of states with which Turkey has hot geopolitical historical issues.
Although there is a partnership obligation between the two ministries to exchange information, Ankara does not provide the Albanian Defense Minister with sensitive information, based on suspicions created against him due to his Greek origin and oath as a Greek citizen to serve Greece with his life. The Turkish Secret Service, MIT, considers this a risk to security and defense strategy.
Currently, there are only exchanges of information and open contacts between the two ministers on the military production industry and the trade in weapons, machinery and equipment that do not constitute a geostrategic state secret for Turkey.
Minister Pirro Vengu has requested clarification from his Turkish counterpart Yaşar Güler, but the reaction has been silent and information restrictions continue.
In fact, Minister Pirro Vengu has been a contingent for the Greek army. In September 2015, when he was the director of the cabinet of the Albanian Foreign Minister, Greece called him to perform military service as a sworn Greek citizen. After this scandal, Edi Rama appointed Pirro Vengu as director of Anti-Corruption in the Prime Minister's Office, then director of the Durrës Port Authority and in July 2024 appointed him Minister of Defense, a position where national security and NATO information are handled./ Pamphlet

Ne se i pelqeu te behet grek si ai zagari i Asfalise greke peshengritesi qe edhe emrin ia kane harruar Shqiptaret le te shkoje e te behet atje minister pushti. C'pune kane kurvat e Greqise, Serbise e Turqise te vihen krye te shtetit Shqiptar!?
