The debates in the meeting held between the deputies of Sali Berisha and Gazment Bardhi are clarified. The former prime minister went to the Presidency of the Assembly with a new scenario, asking to start the protests.
As soon as the meeting started, Berisha put forward the idea to mobilize the branches and hold a symbolic protest in front of the Assembly headquarters on Thursday, during the plenary session. Berisha's request came a few hours after the letter that SPAK sent to the Parliament, where he asked to allow the arrest of the former prime minister. It seems that Berisha tried to organize some kind of revolt to show strength, but the plan failed.
It was Gazment Bardhi, who opposed him. Bardhi has stated that holding a protest at a time when SPAK's request has just arrived cannot be done. He has asked Berisha to withdraw from such a scenario, as the opposition must be in support of justice and the protest will be seen as a challenge to SPAK.
Then Flamur Noka spoke, who stated that from the contacts he had on the ground, he finds it difficult to hold a protest at this time. In short, Noka and the other MPs realized that the support for Berisha in this situation has fallen and holding a protest could turn into a boomerang. This has caused Berisha to withdraw and surrender to SPAK.
However, he has convinced his people not to participate in the session that will be held for SPAK's request. According to sources, on December 18 in the Council of Mandates, the deputies aligned with Berisha will not participate, and they will also not participate in the session that will be held to vote on the report. But Gazment Bardhi, who is expected to be there, is expected to act differently.
Sali Berisha rejected the decision of GJKKO "obligation to appear" and SPAK today took another step, asking the Assembly to remove his immunity and allow an arrest measure against him. Apparently, this caught Berisha by surprise, since according to sources, most deputies have started to distance themselves. Next to him are only those 5-6 names who follow him, while Bardhi and many others refuse to defend him.
