Ilir Meta has given another slap to his ally, Sali Berisha. Although the latter states that they are together in the coalition, from day to day it seems clear that in the meantime only the Freedom Party is benefiting, as "Foltorja" has gone downhill.
On May 14, Berisha entered the elections under the PL logo and it seems that now he is suffering the consequences, while Ilir Meta is enjoying the benefits. To be more precise, the result of May 14 has caused PL to be ranked as the main opposition force by the CEC.
Today, the CEC has appointed the division of commissioners for the partial elections in Kukës on September 24. Ilirian Celibashi, said that based on the result of May 14, the Freedom Party is the one that received the most votes in the opposition camp and they have 2 commissioners in KZAZ. Meanwhile, PD is ranked as the second force and will have 1 commissioner. Meanwhile, 3 others belong to the SP as the largest party in the majority.
" This as a subject (PL) has such a number of votes that it makes it claim the right to propose the members of KZAZ as the opposition political party that received the most votes in the local elections", declared Ilirjan Celibashi, the State Commissioner of Elections.
According to the Electoral Code, the reference moment for determining the weight of each political force is the last local elections, and in the battle of May 14, the "Together We Win" coalition ranked second after the Socialist Party in the vote for the municipal councils.
But Meta gets the benefits, since Berisha does not appear anywhere. The "reestablishment" seems to be completely out of the game and Berisha will now always be on his knees before Meta. The latter has it in his hands if this cooperation will continue for a long time, as we will have this precedent in the next local elections after 4 years.
