The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, in his speech at the 182nd anniversary of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, declared that the next year 2024 will be more difficult for Serbia, Kosovo and the entire region.
He further warned that he is not ready to sign an agreement with Kosovo. In short, Vucic seems to be waiting for something to change in international politics in order to have more freedom in the agreement for the north of Kosovo.
"I am afraid that this year will bring us many more conflicts and disturbances than the previous one, including this, I mean any kind of threat in Republika Srpska, in Kosovo and Metohija and in other parts of the region. In the era of the modern world, no one will give in to anyone, even respect for other views is almost non-existent, what seems to me to be our solution is to insist on compromise solutions, even though we know that there will be don't be, even though we know that those who would like to determine the fate of the world, don't want to ," said Vucic, reports Danas.
He further accepted the game he is playing with the Kosovo agreement, as he explained that there are dilemmas on how to make state and national policy, but also that it is better to buy time in an impossible attempt to reach a compromise.
" Some people tell us it's bad to try to buy time, but that's better than giving up what you can't give up...I've had dilemmas every day about how to do national and state politics, and despite The scale of the problem and the strength of the pressures we face, we must always try to compromise, but not give up what is ours under international law. That is why it is important to keep the peace, sometimes hide under a rock and wait for the right moment to come before the world with truth and justice and earn the respect of the world. I expect that the situation for us will be the most difficult in modern history, but that year will also be the end of the suffering and problems we are facing ", said Vucic.
