Today at noon in Pristina, a march will be organized with the motto "Boll ma, stop femicide".
This march comes after the murder of Liridona Ademaj, which was staged by her husband Naim Murseli.
It was actress Donikë Ahmeti, one of the organizers of the march, who called on social networks for awareness, calling femicide a national emergency.
"The killing of women and the systematic violence of the patriarchy must end! Femicide, misogyny and toxic masculinity continue to terrorize us daily. Women's lives are violated every day, at home, on the street, at work, in public and private spaces.
Femicide is a national emergency. It is the last moment for our institutions and society to treat the killing of women and violence against them with the highest seriousness, and to punish criminals to the maximum extent according to the law...
Therefore, on December 7, 2023 from 12:00, we march from "Zahir Pajaziti" square to oppose the oppression and killing of women under the motto "Stop Femicide!" #BollMa", which is preceded by the artistic performance "Hope Bubble" created by Donikë Ahmeti.
The murder of Liridona Ademaj has revealed the true face of the patriarchal system. If anyone has ever had doubts that femicide does not exist in Kosovo, the murder of Liridona Ademaj is a pure case of femicide: planning, organization, execution.
It is the last moment to put an end to femicide.
It is the last moment to bring justice and gender equality.
It is the last moment to put an end to patriarchy, and with it oppression.
So that there are no more Liridonas, victims of femicide", wrote Ahmeti on his Facebook page.
