The spokesperson of the European Union, Peter Stano, has called the statements of Prime Minister Albin Kurti, who said that the emissary of the European Union, Miroslav Lajcak, was in sync with the Serbian president, Aleksandar Vucic, in the September 14 meeting in Brussels.
"We cannot comment on Prime Minister Kurti's comments, especially when they are baseless claims," he said.
He said in a press conference that the European Union states have made it clear to Kosovo and Serbia that they must continue to fulfill the obligations received from the dialogue, as soon as possible and without preconditions.
Stano said that the EU states have reiterated very clearly that they support the emissary of the European Union, Miroslav Lajcak, as a facilitator of the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue.
"They support him to help Kosovo and Serbia to normalize relations. This declaration is supported by 27 countries of the European Union. The 27 EU countries ask Kosovo and Serbia to fulfill their obligations without any delay. They also remind the parties about the principle of confidentiality in the dialogue. This has been expressed very clearly for both countries", he said.
The European Union has called for the work on the formation of the Association of municipalities with a Serbian majority to start without any further postponement or preconditions.
Through a press release published on Tuesday morning, the European Union through its high representative, Josep Borrell, has said that it is concerned about the lack of implementation of the commitments reached in the Agreement on normalization and the Implementation Annex, for which Kosovo and Serbia agreed earlier this year. The EU has reminded that the agreement is binding and plays a role in the European path of both countries.
