On Saturday morning, the mayor of Peja Municipality, Gazmend Muhaxheri, was physically attacked.
The incident happened at around 8:50 a.m. where Muhaxheri was driving on "Bill Clinton" street in Peja after having a coffee in the bars on this street.
Muhaxheri, who is also the vice-president of the Democratic League of Kosovo, received bodily injuries and was sent to the Peja hospital.
The police confirmed that they are investigating the case, adding that two people have been arrested.
Unofficially, it is learned that an infrastructure project in the municipality of Peja may have been the cause.
Regarding the event, the chairman of the LDK, Lumir Abdixhiku, has reacted, asking the justice bodies to clarify the case as soon as possible.
