The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, met with the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani.
In a joint conference for the media, President Vjosë Osmani said that Kosovo has concrete works in support of EU policies, while she asked for the lifting of sanctions.
"Being the first country to approve sanctions against Russia, Kosovo has proven that embracing EU policies is not only words, but also concrete actions. It is a pity that in the Western Balkans there is still a strong satellite state of Russia, such as Serbia. According to the White House, Serbia, with the aggression in Banjska, was intended to destabilize the entire Western Balkans and must receive the appropriate response.
Kosovo is witnessing a constructive approach and is working for good neighborliness. The EU should recognize and appreciate these achievements and the unfair measures against Kosovo should be removed, as they harm the citizens and have damaged the dialogue by making it unequal", said Osmani.
Also, during her stay in Kosovo, the President of the EC will meet with Prime Minister Albin Kurti. The European official's visit to Pristina is part of a Balkan tour that she started on October 23 in Albania. After Albania, she stayed in North Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia. In Serbia, she met only with President Aleksandar Vučić, while canceling a meeting with Serbian Prime Minister Miloš Vučević after the latter met with an EU-sanctioned Russian minister.
