Two explosions at midnight in the north of Kosovo, the police increase security

During yesterday evening, shortly before midnight, two explosions occurred in the north of Kosovo. The news has been confirmed by the Kosovo police. It is reported that as a result of the explosions, two parked cars were damaged near the municipality of Mitrovica in the north, while there are still no traces of the persons responsible.

Meanwhile, the police have blocked the Bosnian neighborhood and are conducting the necessary investigations to clarify the incident.

We remind you that the explosions come after the release of three Kosovo policemen yesterday. While the Serbian officials emphasized that they will fight for the release of the Serbian detainees in Kosovo who, according to them, have been put in handcuffs without any judicial evidence, despite the fact that some of the detainees are known for the crimes committed in the north of the country and the attacks on KFOR on May 29.

The Serbian President, Aleksandër Vucic, had a telephone conversation with the American Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, to whom he informed that he would insist on the release of the Serbs arrested by the police and on new elections in the north of Kosovo.

While the high representative of the EU, Josep Borrell announced that the European Union is ready to take punitive steps against the parties if the situation in the north of the country will not escalate.
