A triple murder occurred this afternoon in Gjilan, following gunfire on "Ibrahim Rugova" Street.
According to the Kosovo Police, the main suspect in this serious incident is Mefail Shkodra, a name known to the justice system.
The conflict is suspected to have arisen due to usury, an illegal activity for which Shkodra was arrested last year.
The police spokesman for the Gjilan region, Ismet Hashani, confirmed that the suspect is on the run and that the police are working to capture him.
With the authorization of the Basic Prosecution Office in Gjilan, the Police have declared Mefail Shkodra wanted and have published his photograph, calling on citizens and the media for cooperation.
"The Kosovo Police, Regional Police Directorate in Gjilan, based on the authorization of the Basic Prosecution Office in Gjilan, in order to locate and arrest the suspect, issues this request for cooperation with citizens and the media," the announcement states.

Today's event is not Shkodra's first clash with the law.
In 2024, he was arrested during a large-scale Kosovo Police operation in three regions of the country, for the criminal offenses of "Usurpation" and "Duty".
In that case, in Gjilan, police arrested Shkodra and another person, while a third person was declared wanted.
According to the Gjilan Prosecution Office, the damage caused by the suspects to the victim amounted to over 600 thousand euros.
Shkodra also became known through social networks, where he published photos with luxury cars and posed next to senior political figures, including Prime Minister Albin Kurti, President Vjosa Osmani, and the mayor of Pristina, Përparim Rama.
Just a year after being put in jail for usury, Shkodra is today at the center of an intense search, suspected of one of the most serious criminal cases Gjilan has seen in recent years.
Police spokesman for the Gjilan region, Ismet Hashani, said earlier that "relevant units and the state prosecutor have arrived at the scene" and that "the Kosovo Police, the regional investigation unit in cooperation with the state prosecutor are investigating the circumstances of this serious case."
