Serbian criminal structures and terrorists with direct political connections in Belgrade orchestrated an attack yesterday evening that is no different from what Russia is doing in Ukraine.
In the early hours of this morning, starting at 01:30, under the leadership of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, an extraordinary meeting of the Security Council of the Republic of Kosovo was held.
This meeting was called after the third attack in the last 72 hours, this time targeting the country's critical infrastructure – the water supply system and electricity generation. The first indications suggest that this next attack was orchestrated by the Serbian state, which has the capacity for such a criminal and terrorist attack. Elements of the terrorist organizations "Civil Defense" and "Northern Brigade" and the main criminal Millan Radoicic under the leadership of the President and Government of Serbia plan and practice in Serbia for such professional attacks. The probable connection with the attacks of the aggressive Russia in Ukraine on energy capacities during this week, leaving over a million Ukrainian households without electricity right on the eve of winter, was also highlighted.
During the meeting, Council members discussed the emergency measures that have been taken and are being taken to mitigate the consequences of the attack and to ensure the safety of critical infrastructure in the country. Concrete steps have been taken to return the situation to normal, assuring the citizens that the water and electricity supply will be fixed as soon as possible.
In addition, the Security Council has approved additional measures to strengthen security around critical facilities and services such as bridges, substations, antennas, lakes, canals, etc. The Kosovo Police and the Kosovo Security Force will be activated on the ground for this purpose. Inter-institutional and international cooperation has also been intensified to prevent similar attacks in the future.
"Our country is determined and prepared to protect its citizens and critical infrastructure. We will not tolerate such acts that aim to destabilize Kosovo and threaten peace and democratic functioning. The situation is being brought under control towards the return to normality. We ask all international factors to condemn this attack that caused great damage to us," Kurti said.
Meanwhile, the Kosovo Police are carrying out checks in several houses in the Varage village of Zubin Potok.
The news was confirmed for KosovaPress by the deputy director of the police for the northern region, Veton Elshani.
