According to the claims of the Russian minister, the mask of Recak in Kosovo and that of Bucha in Ukraine, are nothing but the creation of the West, in order to justify their involvement in the war with Russia, as in the case of Yugoslavia in 1999.
Whenever there is talk of achieving peace in Ukraine, Russia talks about cases similar to its aggression against its neighbor that may have happened in the past, to parallel the situation and justify the actions through mass disinformation.
As often since the start of the aggression in Ukraine, Russia today has taken Kosovo and its struggle for independence as an example to justify its situation with Ukraine.
During a discussion held in Moscow on the crisis in Ukraine with foreign ambassadors to Russia, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov clarified the position of the Russian Federation regarding the terms of peace and spoke about the information war that is taking place between them and the West. .
During his speech, Lavrov raised allegations that the West is using information warfare and its influence on some of the world's largest media to distort, in his view, the truth of the war in Ukraine. He emphasized that this is also being achieved by the fact that Ukraine is being controlled right by right by the Anglo-Saxons and NATO allies, to wage a hybrid war to the detriment of Russia.
“ The collective West has long used information warfare techniques to distort information in order to advance its dirty geopolitical conspiracies... The Kiev regime operates under the direct control of the Anglo-Saxons and their NATO satellites -s and operates in accordance with British colonial practices. He uses many modern techniques of ultra-liberal Western ideology ," Lavrorv said, reports the Russian Foreign Ministry in its announcement .
Further, the Russian Foreign Minister added that this technique of manipulation is being used to undermine countries and governments, which do not go parallel to the thoughts of the West. According to Lavrov, this method was previously used by the West in Kosovo to justify the bombing of Yugoslavia.
Continuing with his disinformation rhetoric, the Russian chief diplomat recalled the Recak massacre in Kosovo in 1999, where 45 unarmed civilians were brutally killed by Serbian forces. According to Lavrov's false claims, the whole event was a stage to later justify NATO's bombing of Yugoslavia.
" In terms of international relations, politics aimed at demonizing unwanted countries and governments has been around for a long time. Just remember the efforts of the Westerners to incite international public opinion for the bombing of sovereign Yugoslavia in 1999. An attack was organized in the village of Racak in Kosovo, where representatives of the OSCE "suddenly" discovered several dozen dead bodies. A representative of the OSCE mission who held an American passport claimed that the Yugoslav army had taken civilian lives. This triggered an aggression against Yugoslavia. At that time, they bombed the TV broadcast center, bridges and other civilian sites. Later, it turned out that the dead bodies in question were not civilians, but gunmen, whose bodies were later dressed to look like civilians ," Lavrov said, continuing his disinformation rhetoric in the eyes of foreign ambassadors.
All this disinformation rhetoric was raised by Lavrov to then draw parallels with the situation in Ukraine and the accusations that have been raised about the Russian regime for the massacre in Bucha, where thousands of people were tortured to death by Russian forces.
According to the claims of the Russian minister, the mask of Recak in Kosovo and that of Bucha in Ukraine, are nothing but the West's work, with the aim of justifying their involvement in the war with Russia, as in the case of Yugoslavia in 1999.
"A provocation was organized in Recak, a village in Kosovo, in 1999. In March 2022, a similar provocation was carried out in Bucha near Kiev, where BBC journalists were shown dozens of dead bodies lying with precision on the central street of the city. After that, Russia was accused of killing civilians and war crimes. We continue to ask to this day for a list of the names of those whose bodies were shown to BBC journalists. I have publicly appealed to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres three times, but he is looking away ," Lavrov said.
Further, Lavrorov spoke about the possibility of achieving peace in Ukraine diplomatically, but raised some concerns which, according to him, undermine the peace dialogue process with Kiev. One of the most fundamental reasons, according to Lavrov, is NATO's expansion into Ukraine, which, according to him, is a red line that Russia will not allow.
"President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly emphasized Russia's unwavering commitment to peaceful, political and diplomatic means. However, achieving a lasting and sustainable solution to the Ukrainian conflict would be impossible unless we remove its root causes. These primarily include the creation of stable security threats to Russia along its western borders resulting from NATO expansion, as well as NATO's efforts to absorb Ukraine ," Lavrov said, among other things.
This flagrant case of disinformation by Lavrov clearly shows the strong information war that Russia has undertaken against Western allies in order to destabilize fragile regions, such as the Western Balkans. For almost 2 years, the USA and other EU allies have raised the alarm about Russian and Chinese disinformation campaigns in the region./ Pamphlet
