The Ambassador of the United States of America, Jeffrey Hovenier, spoke after the meeting with the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti. He said that he is very worried about the situation in the north of the country.
"We cannot say anything more than what we have said", he said after the meeting.
Jeffrey Hovenier also said that they are working with the government to ensure that the Kosovo Police operates in conditions of dignity and safety. Hovenier expressed his condolences to the people of Kosovo and the families of the dead policeman.
"We just finished the meeting with the prime minister. We have no statements beyond those already issued by our embassies or our governments. We are deeply concerned about the situation, we condemn the attacks, we are working closely with the Government to ensure that the Kosovo Police is able to operate in conditions of dignity and safety. Of course, we express our deepest condolences to the people of Kosovo and the families of our fallen policemen", said the US ambassador.
Ambassadors of the five QUINT countries; of the USA, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy and France met today in the Government of Kosovo to discuss the latest developments in the north, where a Kosovo policeman was killed and two others were injured by a Serbian terrorist group .
