
North Macedonia reacted after the incident at the Skopje airport, where the security tried to take the cell phone of the president of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani.
The first deputy prime minister of North Macedonia, Izet Mejhiti, has confirmed the incident at the Skopje airport and the confrontation of the president of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani with the security, after the latter was asked to open her suitcases and show what was in them. but he refused.
"We are dealing with the case in question. There will be a press release. It was more of a misunderstanding, everything is fine," Mejhiti said.
Bekim Kupina, the adviser for media in the Presidency of Kosovo, has confirmed the event, stressing that international rules for diplomatic relations were not respected at Skopje Airport.
According to him, against the rules, the Macedonian side took the president's personal bag, although her team was allowed to go to the VIP room, which was reserved by the Embassy of Kosovo.
In the official announcement, it is said that there was a tendency to provoke the Kosovo delegation and that the president informed the Speaker of the Assembly, Afrim Gashi, about this diplomatic scandal.
