Lajçak warns of developments in the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue

The emissary of the European Union for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Miroslav Lajçak, has made a summary of his weekly activity as a mediator in the negotiation process between the two countries.

Laçak announced that at the beginning of this week, he traveled to Belgrade where he met with the Serbian president, Aleksandar Vucic, and the Director of the Office for Kosovo, Petar Petkovic.

" Our discussions were a continuation of our efforts to move towards the implementation of the Agreement on the road to Normalization. Similar to our discussions in Kosovo, we also addressed other important issues in the dialogue facilitated by the European Union, emphasizing the need for urgent solutions in preparation for this week's meeting of chief negotiators," he wrote on Facebook .

The European emissary announced that in the talks in the Serbian capital, he emphasized that the implementation of the Agreement must progress with both parties fulfilling their respective obligations step by step in parallel and based on the principle that both parties must do something to get something.

Among other things, Lajçak also talked about the meeting he had with the Foreign Minister of Montenegro.

" Immediately after landing in Brussels, I welcomed the new Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro, Filip Ivanovic. I was happy to see that Montenegro had a strong government with a pro-European agenda at a crucial time for EU-Western Balkans relations. I hope that Montenegro will use this unique moment to make substantial progress on its way to the EU ," he said.
