Analyst Shpëtim Nazarko stated that early elections in Kosovo are not an option at the moment and that something like this would not be allowed even by the EU.
In an interview for "Abc News", he said that Germany, France and Italy are focused on urgently resolving the clashes between Kosovo and Serbia in order to stabilize the Balkans and minimize the outbreak of a new conflict in the heart of Europe.
" Regarding the hypothesis of early elections, the discourse of opposition parties everywhere in the Balkans about early elections is of a permanent nature. Now when we come to the desire, to the eventual tendency of this government to go to early elections, we are in a different discussion. I believe that this government would like to go to early elections, but I also believe that they do not let it go to early elections. I don't see any major reason that would bring the leaders of the EU, the German chancellor, the French president, the Italian prime minister together to gather together the prime minister of Kosovo and the president of Serbia than an emergency of a time nature, which in this case is the realization or the initiation of legal steps for the association. It is a time emergency, because there is no other major reason for them to attach so much importance to the Balkans. So in this sense I do not believe that they will allow to go to early elections. They will put Kosovo on the map of the countries in the Balkans that are in elections, which means they would hinder all those processes for which they are all guarantors ", said Nazarko.
