Vucic was willing to discuss the first two conditions of Kurti, but not the surrender of Radoicic!
The head of diplomacy of the European Union, Josep Borrell, stated in a press conference that today in Brussels there was no tripartite EU-Kurti-Vucic meeting. Borrell emphasized that Kosovo was not ready for such a meeting.
Borrell informed that during the bilateral meetings, Kurti presented three conditions for further engagement in the process of normalizing relations with Serbia, starting from the signing of the Basic Agreement to the withdrawal of Ana Bërnabiç's letter from the EU and the handing over of Milan Radoiçiç.
"First, the formalization of the Basic Agreement through signature by the respective heads of state. The second, the withdrawal of the official letter submitted to the EU by the former Serbian prime minister, Ana Bërnabiç, on December 13, 2023. And the third, the handover of Millan Radoicic and his paramilitary terrorist group to the judicial authorities of Kosovo" , said Borrell during a press conference.
Borrell further added that Serbia was not ready to fully accept the conditions imposed by Kurti. According to what Borrell said, Vucic was willing to discuss Kurt's first two conditions, but not the one of Radoicic's surrender!
" President Vučić hinted that he is ready to explore possibilities regarding the former prime minister's letter and the formalization of the Agreement, in line with past dialogue practices, in order to unlock the implementation of the agreement ," he said.
During separate meetings between Borrell and the EU's special envoy for dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, with Kurt and Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vucic, according to Borrell, the parties presented their positions on how the process should move forward.
" As usual, the discussions were difficult and in the end there was no tripartite meeting. Kosovo was not ready for such a meeting, Serbia was ", concluded Borrell./ REL
