Isuf Kadriu, correspondent of Radio Free Europe in Skopje, died suddenly on Sunday at the age of 52. He died as a result of a heart attack in the city of Shengjin in Albania, while he was on vacation with his family.
Kadriu has reported for REL, from Skopje, since 2001, and is one of the most prominent names in the editorial office of Radio Free Europe. Since 2008, he has also been the deputy editor-in-chief in Alsat medium in North Macedonia.
He finished his secondary education at the Gjilan gymnasium, while studying journalism at the University of Tirana, as one of the first journalists to graduate from North Macedonia.
He started his career in 1998 at Era Television, while from 1999 to 2008 he worked at North Macedonia Television, in the Albanian language program.
"Colleague Isuf Kadriu will be remembered in the memory of the history of journalism as a contributor to the dynamism of journalism, as a promoter of the objective follow-up of events and as a professional elaborator of political and social issues and phenomena. He always made all these professional efforts respecting the principle of teamwork and respecting professional standards and ethical norms", it was said in the reaction of Alsat's colleagues.
He left behind his wife and three children, but also an indelible legacy with his work at REL. Radio Free Europe expresses its sincere condolences to his family and friends! / REL
