The military expert stated that he sees Russian propaganda as a global problem, as he considers that the latter spares no means and money to spread its messages everywhere in the world.
The former colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Sergii Grabskyi, has warned Kosovo to strengthen the lines of communication, as Russia wants to expand electronic warfare to other regions, an area in which it is quite sophisticated in terms of propaganda.
In an interview for The Geopost, the military expert stated that he sees Russian propaganda as a global problem, as he considers that the latter spares no means and money to spread its messages anywhere in the world. According to him, Russian disinformation remains one of the biggest problems for Ukraine and the whole world, due to its sophistication.
" You know, the hardest battle in our hybrid war is a battle against Russian disinformation and propaganda. You have to understand that those guys are excellent, I have to emphasize again, excellent in their proper informational warfare. Because, remember, the Russians created their so-called propaganda background by doing business in European countries, developing their own media resources, and literally buying any journalist to be the voice of the Russian media. So it is very difficult to fight with those guys who have a lot of experience, how to make propaganda, how to use propaganda, how to fight with propaganda. Moreover, the difficulty of Russian propaganda is that they add some truth to their propaganda. And that is why it is the most dangerous situation when you are not able to understand what is the difference between accurate information and propaganda itself.
This is a tool because you know, in my language we use a special sentence, how difficult it is to fight against Russian propaganda, not only Russian. We say "when the truth wears its pants, lies roll three times around the village". And also, don't forget why it's very difficult because you know the Russians don't count money in propaganda, absolutely. That is why you should not be surprised that the Russians will use different channels to send their poisonous messages to, say, customers around the globe ," he said.
The former colonel who served in Kosovo and Iraq also spoke about the Russian electronic signal jamming systems that are expected to be installed in Nis, Serbia.
Speaking about the difficulties of the war in Ukraine, Grabskyi said that Kosovo is currently in a defensive position and that it must ensure the doubling of communication lines.
According to him, Russia will not hesitate to use its allies in the Balkans, in this case Serbia, to launch a disinformation campaign and destabilize the region.
" The Russians who have a great experience here in Ukraine, they try to expand that weapon of war, electronic warfare, to another region, involving their allies in this bloody game. And you must understand that only effective, coordinated and well-orchestrated countermeasures can support you, which include the creation of joint anti-war systems, the creation of more effective war equipment and the use of extensive war options, equipment electronic warfare. So you are also in a defensive position now. In addition, I can say that from our experience, you should understand that you need to ensure a stable communication and duplication of your lines of communication.
Can you imagine the chaos there when the Russians shut down all the connections there. And you should not, you can, you should pay special attention to the creation of a stable system of command and control in your territory and in the territory of your allies in other Balkan countries, which is extremely important for everyone.
The stability of the command and control system and any army can confirm that it is a key point of the stability of the defense lines there. And indeed, you know, only by using the means of defense you cannot achieve a victory in any war. That is why you should also think about what kind of countermeasures should be applied to attack and destroy the origin of that electronic warfare, as we actually do in Ukraine, clearly understanding that only in this case, we can correctly say, in in this way, in this protocol, we can achieve several results.
First of all, you need to protect your communication and command and control system, your lines of communication, to create communication aids or to duplicate those communication tools, and to search for counterattack facilities which can support you to destroy that device in place at their locations.
