The head of the Committee for Foreign Affairs in the Great Britain Parliament, Alicia Kearns, has reacted after the statement of the US ambassador to Kosovo, Jeffrey Hovenier, after accusing the Kosovo authorities of inciting tensions with Serbia.
"Where is the balance? Did we have a statement like this from the US after the illegal kidnapping of three police officers from Serbia? No. The silence about the terrorist attack in Banjska remains deafening," Kearns wrote.
"The Government of the United States of America is deeply concerned about the recent actions of the authorities of the Government of Kosovo that have a direct and negative impact on members of the Serbian ethnic group and other minorities in Kosovo. These actions are unnecessarily increasing inter-ethnic tensions and consequently limiting the options for the United States to serve as an effective advocate for Kosovo in the international arena," Hovenier's statement says.
