The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Ivica Dacic, has said that the armed group that clashed with the Kosovo police on Sunday in the village of Banjska has nothing to do with Belgrade. In an interview for Radiotelevision Vojvodina, he stated that Albanians could form armed formations, such as the Kosovo Liberation Army, which he described as terrorists, and Hashim Thaçi participated in the negotiations in Rambuje on its behalf.
"Everyone will try to connect it with Belgrade, but here we are talking about autochthonous representatives of the Serbs who live in Kosovo and who have a legitimate right to express their opinion about Kurti's policy, at least as much as the Albanians had in Yugoslavia. to boycott elections, institutions, to demonstrate. It is not in our interest that there is a loss of human life, neither Serbian nor Albanian, and it would be best if the whole process goes back to what we decided 10 years ago, to try to achieve the normalization of daily life . through dialogue, without entering into the status issues, but here we come to the key problem that Kurti does not accept such a position towards that issue" , said Dacic in an interview for Radiotelevision Vojvodina.
What happened in the north of Kosovo?
A member of the Kosovo Police was killed and 3 were injured in clashes with an armed group in the north of the country. Sergeant Bunjaku was killed in the ambush that the armed group took early in the morning at the entrance to the village of Banjské in Zveçan. During the exchange of fire, 2 other policemen were injured. Then the armed group of 30 members was placed in the monastery of Banjska where for hours, throughout the whole day on Sunday, shots were exchanged with the police. In the evening, the interior minister of Kosovo declared that 4 attackers were killed. The three bodies of the Serbs were found on the same day, while the fourth one a day later. Meanwhile, six other people, who were suspected to be related to them, were arrested. A large amount of weaponry was also seized.
