It has been almost 10 months since the triple murder that shocked Gjilan, which occurred on August 10, in the middle of the day, in the city center, and there have still been no reports of any concrete developments in the investigations into the case.
Selami and Edmond Hasani were shot to death last year.
In this serious shooting incident, three people were killed, while another was injured. The main suspects in the murder are Mefail Shkodra and his two sons, Edonis and Engjull Shkodra, who have been on the run and elusive to law enforcement since the day of the crime.
The case is being investigated by the Directorate for the Investigation of Serious Crimes in Pristina. Kosovo Police has stated that it is continuing intensive work to locate and arrest the suspects, but without providing details on the concrete progress of the investigations.
The prosecution has also announced that steps have been taken for international cooperation and all border points have been notified, however, so far no tangible progress has been reported in capturing the suspects.
The victims of this triple murder were Selami and Edmond Hasani, father and son, well-known jewelers in Gjilan, as well as Abedin Hoxha. According to initial suspicions, the motive for the crime is related to usury.
