Lorik Cana spoke in "Let me speak" about the meeting he had with the French president, Emmanuel Macron, whom he accompanied during his visit to the country. The former captain of the national team revealed that Macron told him that he was his fan, because he is a fan of Marseille, the French team where Cana played and was captain.
"He sent me an invitation to be part of the cultural delegation, as someone who has created bridges between the two countries. I immediately accepted the invitation to travel with him. In 2 hours and 30 minutes with him, I only met him for 30 minutes. He came last, met all the people who were there. I introduced myself to him, he told me that he knows you very well and that he was a fan of mine. After an hour, an hour or so, he invited me to the part of the plane where Macron was standing. We had the right to take photos etc. in the second half, in the second half we were not allowed to take the phone. He had reserved my place next to him, then I helped him with his Albanian speech. It was an interesting communication, two Marseille fans. He was also curious about Albania, then we talked about Kosovo.
I talked to him about relations with Serbia, many things, not about the match, I told him that we are headed towards Europe and we want to find our place in Europe.
I gave him two gifts: first, the national team jersey as a symbol of unity and success for us Albanians. And the second gift, it was the last jersey I wore as captain of Marseille. It was very personal as a gift," said Cana.
