Actress Denise Richards recently testified against her ex-husband, Aaron Phypers. The two former spouses attended a hearing regarding a temporary restraining order that Richards obtained. While testifying in court, Richards mentioned alleged abuse in the marriage.
She claimed that Phypers often threatened to throw her out of the hotel window and balcony and with tears in her eyes she declared: "He almost killed me."
Richards also explained what led to their split, when she asked Phypers to leave their home. "He got really angry with me, he was unstable. At the time, I had just recovered from a full facelift and I still had stitches behind my ears. He grabbed me by the arms, yelled at me and insulted me, calling me a 'cheat and a liar,'" she said.
"It was hard for me to accept it. I felt scared for him. I'm much smaller than him," she said. The next day, Phypers and his father entered the room where Richards was sleeping and allegedly threatened to publish nude photos of her. Richards further claims that Phypers hit her.
Denise points out that Phypers denied hitting her. After that, Richards describes several other incidents and beatings. She claims that he violently hit her in the face and head and threatened to kill her. She later claimed that Richards had cheated on her and that she found text messages on her phone that indicated the alleged infidelity.
