Tributes are being held in Milan today in honor of Giorgio Armani, the Italian fashion icon.
The coffin of the great designer was surrounded by white roses and hundreds of lanterns, while thousands of people paid their last respects today.

About 6,000 people, including family members, colleagues, well-known figures in art, politics, and fashion, as well as ordinary citizens, lined up to say their final goodbyes.
The tributes will take place throughout the weekend, Saturday and Sunday, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. But there are some rules. To respect the solemn atmosphere and the family's privacy, it is strictly forbidden to take photos or videos, both inside and outside the premises.
After tributes over the weekend, Giorgio Armani's body will be transported to his final resting place on Monday, September 8, in a completely private ceremony, according to his wishes.
Only a very limited number of people, around twenty, will be present. The location of the ceremony has not been made public.
All Giorgio Armani group stores will remain closed during the ceremony, as a sign of respect.
