A photo of Antonela Berisha before cosmetic surgery went viral on the internet because it was very different from the former Big Brother housemate's current image. But Antonela herself has reacted to this and claims to be 12 years old, even though she looks older and is clearly made up with black eyeshadow and eyeliner.
"The public knows me for who I am today, but not for who I was yesterday. I'm not making this post for blackmail or attention, but to show all girls that they shouldn't be ashamed of their path," Antonela writes, opening a topic about her appearance.
"In recent days, a photo of me at the age of 12 has been circulating on the internet. It is certainly not a pleasant experience for any of us when we see ourselves many years ago, but it is certainly not a reason to be ashamed or a reason to be "blackmailed" by the media. The public that follows and loves me has always appreciated my direct, transparent and popular nature, so I will give a little "background story" to all the girls who follow me. I have never thought that I am beautiful according to conventional standards of beauty and throughout my life, like hundreds and hundreds of girls, I have had difficulty accepting myself and my appearance, in creating self-confidence and courage to be who I am. And I, like all girls and women in this world, have from time to time been influenced by the "beauty standards" that have been imposed on me.. a weight that I have felt especially when I came to Albania and became part of of television. The world of television and the Albanian world despises you because you are ugly, but it also despises you because you are beautiful. People say “get up because I killed you, get down because I killed you”. Personally, I have had these interventions as follows: otoplasty, rhinoplasty and non-invasive procedures such as fillers (which I melted later). It is worth underlining how, with or without intervention, people have always found things wrong with me and my appearance, something that has hurt me for a long time until I realized that .. whoever seeks to find ugliness will find it and whoever is predisposed to see beauty will also find it. I have learned that this has nothing to do with me but with the person who sees it… it is more than true when it is said that a person sees the world with their own filter and lens, they see it as it is. Today, at the age of 29, I no longer accept it I am dictated how I should "look" or be, and I am no longer blackmailed by things as natural as the appearance that God has given me, and I advise all the girls who follow me not to become victims of the unattainable standards of beauty that society sets, but to learn to love themselves and find the courage to be themselves.
