None of Nicki Minaj's fans in Birmingham, England, expected the rapper to pay tribute to Princess Diana. The 41-year-old singer was on stage and asked her audience: "Where are you from?", to which someone replied: "From Wales."
Nicki Minaj then used a British accent that she doesn't use on a daily basis, and spoke about Princess Diana to the crowd, calling her her best friend.
“Wales always reminds me of a good friend of mine who is no longer here. Princess of Wales. Let's observe a minute's silence for him,” she said, leaving the crowd stunned with her statement.
It is known that when Princess Diana died, at the age of 36, in 1997, Nicki Minaj was only 14 years old. Her strange statement surprised not only the present audience but also the entire network.
"A dear friend of mine...she was 14 years old when Diana died.." writes one commenter, while another adds: If I can have Christ as a friend, then you can have Diana.
