The famous series 'The Simpsons' has recently become a frequent topic of discussion for conspiracy theories. The famous family will return. Two decades after the release of the movie "The Simpsons", another project will come, as a continuation! The announcement was made on September 29, 2025, by "20th Century Studios" and the film will be released on July 23, 2027.
The film's poster was released on Instagram and includes an image of a pancake, telling us that Homer will be back for a "second round."
The series, created by cartoonist Matt Groening in 1989, follows the Simpson family, with parents Homer and Marge, as well as their three children, Bart, Lisa and Maggie.
The first “The Simpsons” movie was released in July 2007 and told the story of Homer, who accidentally polluted the town’s water source. This led to the Environmental Protection Agency covering the town with a dome, forcing Homer to save the town and his family. The movie, which earned over $500 million at the global box office, ends with baby Maggie saying the first word, “To be continued?” during the film’s end credits.
In 2014, “The Simpsons” executive producer and co-writer James L. Brooks revealed that Fox had approached him about a sequel to the film. But in 2024, writer and executive producer Al Jean said that there had been no formal talks or script development, explaining that discussions had been put on hold due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
At the moment, plot details for the new film have not been revealed.
“The Simpsons” is the longest-running animated and scripted prime-time series in the US, with nearly 800 episodes airing over 36 years.
