"I still have anxiety from the violence", Cassie is afraid of

Casandra "Cassie" Ventura has confessed in a letter her fear that Sean "Diddy" Combs might retaliate against her, just days before the sentencing decision was announced.

The singer, who testified at trial, pleaded with Judge Arun Subramanian to impose a sentence that reflects "the reality of the evidence and my lived experience as a victim," Page Six reports.

"I still have nightmares and flashbacks constantly, every day, and I continue to receive psychological care to get over my past," she wrote, referring to the abuse she experienced during her 11-year relationship with the rapper.

"The worry that Sean Combs or his associates will retaliate against me and my family is my reality. I have actually moved my family out of New York and am staying as private and quiet as I can because I fear that if he is released, his first act will be to retaliate against me and others who confessed to the abuse in court," the 39-year-old said.

"Despite the progress I have made in recovering from his abuse, I remain fearful of what he is capable of and the malice he undoubtedly harbors towards me for having the courage to tell the truth," the singer continues.

In the letter, she recalled abuse and "forced" sexual relations during their relationship that lasted from 2007-2018.

"During the almost 11 years we were together, Sean Combs hit me, punched me, stomped on my face, pulled my hair, threw me to the ground and against the wall. The jury saw photos of the bruises on my back from Combs' punches and the deep gash above my eye that he caused when he slammed me into the headboard."

The entire room saw footage of Combs hitting and beating me as I tried to escape a sex party in 2016. People have watched this video dozens of times, they have seen my body thrown to the ground, my hands over my head, curled up in a fetal position to protect myself from the horrific blows.”

The model said she used drugs to "continue the horrific sexual acts he demanded and to numb herself to the physical pain and emotional turmoil."

"While defense attorneys in court said my relationship with Combs was akin to a 'great modern love story,' nothing could be further from the truth. Nothing about this story is wonderful, grand, or loving; it was a horrific decade of my life tainted by abuse, violence, forced sex, and degradation."

Ventura also mentions suicide due to the trauma he experienced, but it was "family intervention" and therapy that helped him give up.

Finally, the letter concludes with her request that the decision “consider the many lives that Sean Combs has ended with his abuse and control.”

The rapper has been found guilty of two prostitution charges, each of which carries a 10-year prison sentence.

Prosecutors say he should be sentenced to prison and are recommending 11 years, while the defense has asked for no more than 14 months. So far, Diddy has twice tried to request parole in exchange for $50 million, but has been denied.

The decision on his sentence will be given on Friday, October 3.
