Iconic metal band Gwar staged a mock beheading of Elon Musk at an event called Riot Festival in Chicago this weekend. But not only that, the band also simulated the 'assassination of President Trump.'
Footage shows a band called Gwar, with members dressed as sword-wielding monsters, beheading a mannequin of Musk holding a chainsaw before fake blood sprayed the crowd. Many people cheered and others filmed the scene on their mobile phones at Riot Fest in Chicago, USA.
A five-second clip of the eccentric billionaire's beheading was posted on Twitter by an account with the apt name 'Karen.' It comes amid a wave of protests that the group is "normalising" violence.
"This is not excessive, it is grotesque and reckless and normalizes violence against a real person. This is not okay. Riot Fest and GWAR crossed a big line," wrote one X user, reposting the video.
It's not clear whether the X user is familiar with Gwar's usual work, where the band often uses fake blood and/or semen in their shows. A live video from 2017 shows the band dressed as monsters playing a version of AC/DC's "If You Want Blood (You Got It)," while a Donald Trump mannequin has its ribcage torn to shreds.
"Welcome to GWAR. They're from outer space. They once released an album called 'We Kill Everything' because they actually kill everything," wrote one X user in response.
Even an anonymous person chimed in, replying to 'Karen': "Elon Musk, damn it. Call the manager, you fucking loser. Like you've never heard of GWAR before."
