'Bafta' awards ceremony, leads by 'Battle After Battle'

The winners of the 2026 BAFTAs have been announced, in a ceremony filled with emotions and surprises, where the year's best achievements in cinematography were recognized.

The absolute protagonist of the evening was the film "One Battle After Another" , which triumphed with six awards, including:

Best Picture
Best Director for Paul Thomas Anderson
Best Adapted Screenplay
Cinematography
Editing
Best Supporting Actor for Sean Penn


Following him, the films "I Swear", "Sinners" and "Frankenstein" followed with three awards each, while "Hamnet" won two important awards, including Best British Film and Leading Actress for Jessie Buckley.

In the acting categories , Robert Aramayo was named Best Lead Actor for his role in “I Swear” and also won the Rising Star award, voted for by the audience. Wunmi Mosaku won the Supporting Actress award for “Sinners.”

The film "Sinners" also triumphed in the categories of Original Screenplay and Original Music by Ludwig Göransson, while "Frankenstein" dominated in technical categories such as Costume Design, Set Design and Makeup & Hair.

In the Best Foreign Language Film category, “Sentimental Value” triumphed, while “Zootopia 2” was named Best Animated Feature. The award for Best Documentary went to “Mr Nobody Against Putin.”

A special award for Outstanding British Contribution to Cinematography was given to Claire Binns, honoring her role in the British film industry.

This year's ceremony confirmed the diversity and creative strength of contemporary cinema, showing that the art of film continues to inspire global audiences with diverse stories and extraordinary interpretations.
