What does the US embassy know: Why did it restore the violence alert after 30
The American Embassy and the protest alert /

The US Embassy's alert, signals of tension in several cities, and scenarios of gatherings near police stations and state institutions indicate that authorities are preparing for a weekend with increased security risks...

In 30 days of protests held in front of the Prime Minister's Office, the American Embassy in Tirana had never issued the famous alert message.

In it, as we have become accustomed to, the embassy warns American citizens who are in Albania to exercise caution in their movements when protests are expected that may be accompanied by episodes of violence.

The US Embassy alert is not a routine notification that is approved only by the head of the diplomatic mission.

It is part of a special protocol, which, before publication, is consulted with the State Department and cross-checked with information from other US agencies, including the CIA.

Throughout these 35 years, every time the American Embassy has published such an alert, incidents or episodes of violence have actually occurred in the announced protests.

In almost no case has it turned out that the organizers of the protests have deviated from the expected scenario.

Therefore, the question that arises is: what do Americans know that on a national holiday for them, like Independence Day, they have chosen to publish such a warning?

If the message is read carefully, it does not refer only to Tirana.

It states that episodes of violence may also occur in other cities.

In fact, according to the announcement, the first signals appeared during the July 2 protest.

Meanwhile, for today there is information that there may be a chain of similar developments, not only around the Prime Minister's Office or the boulevard, but also in other parts of the capital.

In addition to the Americans, information about possible tensions has also been received by services of European Union countries, as well as security structures of other countries, including Turkey and Israel.

According to these signals, there are reports of attempted violence, and even attempts to set fire to police stations in Tirana, where some of Thursday's protesters are being escorted or arrested.

Albanian security agencies have also received similar information.

According to them, gatherings are expected in front of police stations, the Tirana Police Directorate, and the Parliament building.

In fact, for some police stations, there are signals that there may be attempts to enter their premises with the aim of releasing arrested persons.

According to the same sources, women and minors may also participate in these gatherings, with the aim of making police intervention more difficult.

Meanwhile, the police, according to information, have been instructed to avoid any unnecessary forceful intervention and any provocation against the demonstrators.

A scenario similar to the events of September 14, 1998, where in some cases a direct clash can be avoided in order not to escalate the situation, is not even ruled out.

Everything is expected to take place after the end of the security hearings at the Tirana Court.

There, too, gatherings and demands for the release of protesters are expected, whose number, according to sources, has reached 19.

On the other hand, signals of protests and tensions have also come from other cities, such as Shkodra, Kurbini, Lezha and Bajram Curri.

A protest against the construction of a hydroelectric power plant is expected in Bajram Curri, while in parallel, gatherings may also take place in front of the police station.

According to this scenario, the goal is to create a situation that would force the police to deploy forces to several points at once, making it difficult to manage the situation.

Meanwhile, the plan for the evening protest calls for the siege of the Prime Minister's Office.

While the siege of the Parliament building is also mentioned as a backup alternative, which, according to this scenario, could continue for several days, at least until Monday afternoon, when the plenary session is scheduled to take place./ Pamphlet
