Two members of staff at the Buenos Aires hotel where Liam Payne died are being investigated on charges that they supplied the singer with hard drugs in the days before the tragedy.
Foreign media write that they allegedly sent various narcotics to the suite of the famous singer.
A cleaner and another member of staff are said to have hidden the drugs in the soap box which detectives found in the 31-year-old's room after his death.
White powder, crystal, tablets and other paraphernalia were found in the third-floor suite. The police have sent the chemicals, which are suspected to be cocaine, for analysis.
Meanwhile, the manager of "CasaSur" is reported to have become aware of the unusual behavior of two staff members and fired one of them.
Detectives have also questioned the manager about his possible role in Payne's death.
"There were two boys in the hotel who gave Liam drugs", revealed a close friend of the singer.
He added: "They sent taxis to take drugs. One of the boys worked in the cleaning department. After Liam died, it was noted that a taxi had been dispatched to the cleaner's home address. The hotel manager asked him why the taxi had gone to his house and when he could not give an explanation he was fired. The cleaner and another member of staff have been questioned by the police. Liam was doing everything to consume drugs and alcohol, but as soon as he arrived at the hotel these people offered him."
Meanwhile, investigators have requested that a full toxicological examination be carried out before the body of the 31-year-old man is handed over to his family and repatriated to Great Britain.
The body of the former star of "One Direction" is expected to stay in Argentina for up to 15 days until the results of the autopsy come out.
According to a forensic report, a day after the death, it was said that the singer died from multiple injuries after falling from the third floor of the hotel.
However, prosecutor Marcelo Roma has requested that histopathological, biochemical and toxicological studies be carried out, to confirm whether the musician was drugged and drunk.
Geoff Payne, Liam's father, arrived in Buenos Aires last week to identify his son and prepare procedures for repatriating his remains to the UK for burial.
