Former "Big Brother VIP 4" housemate Amber has spoken out about her personal life in a rare interview. Amber spoke about how her decision came about, revealing that her family's reaction was very harsh.
"They told me that if I changed, I would no longer be part of the family. When I made the changes, I was separated from my family for three years, but without acknowledging it and insisting on accepting me. I took my own path and my own decision to become who I am. Before I started interfering with my body, I made a phone call to my family and they categorically did not accept it.
I expected the male gender to react badly, but in fact the female gender reacted badly. The four brothers did not react that way, my mother and sister did not accept it. My mother was forced to take this stance, perhaps by her sister or the opinion in Vlora. My father, a year after I changed, passed away, I am very happy to have had such a father. I put my head on his chest and he told me you are my child, whoever you are, you are my child, he told me that I never wanted to take you away from me.
My father passed away from a serious illness and I was not part of my father's funeral, because of the change I had made. I saw the reaction of relatives who did not say 'neither yes nor no', I was in Italy at that time.
"In order not to embarrass them and not to cause arguments, I decided not to go. I was devastated that I couldn't accompany them. A week after my father was buried, I went to the grave and cried alone. I told him 'I'm sorry I didn't accompany you'. After he spoke to me, he closed his eyes," Amber said.
