"Pandoro-gate", the Milan Prosecutor's Office requests a year and

The Public Prosecutor's Office's request was presented this morning at the Court of Milan: Ferragni entered the building before the offices opened to avoid photographers. The conviction of her former right-hand man, Fabio Damato, is also requested. The civil party is the association "Casa dei consumatori"; all the other parties have reached an out-of-court settlement.

On charges of aggravated fraud, the Milan Public Prosecutor's Office is requesting that Chiara Ferragni "be sentenced to one year and eight months in prison." This request was presented today, November 25, by the prosecutor in the case, Eugenio Fusco, during the preliminary hearing regarding the scandal of the Balocco Pandora and the Dolci Preziosi Easter eggs. The products were promoted by the influencer's agency as being linked to two different charitable initiatives.

Along with Ferragni, the same sentence (1 year and 8 months) has been requested for her former operations director, Fabio Maria Damato. While Francesco Cannillo, president of Cerealitalia, has been requested for one year in prison. The next hearing is scheduled for December 5, where defense lawyers Marcello Iannaccone and Marcello Bana will speak, who will aim to declare innocence.

The judge also accepted the request of the association "Casa dei consumatori" to be involved as a civil party, after the other associations had closed the case by agreement. In total, between the fines imposed by the Competition Authority and the claims for damages, Chiara Ferragni has already paid 3.4 million euros, before the process actually entered the main phase.

Through their lawyers, the three defendants have requested a summary trial, which provides for a reduction of one-third of the sentence. For the charge of aggravated fraud, the sentence can range from one to five years in prison. The reduction in sentence is also favored by the compensation paid and the fact that all three have no criminal records. Ferragni was present in the courtroom today, but to avoid the crowd of photographers, she entered the courtroom before the official opening of the premises.

"Everything we have done, we have done in good faith," Ferragni said in her spontaneous statements in court.
