A police officer in the city of Bengaluru, India, did not recognize the famous 33-year-old singer, Ed Sheeran, and so he disconnected his microphone while he was singing.
Sheeran was performing his smash hit "Shape Of You" when the policeman approached him and a fan watching the performance on the street tried to explain to the officer that he was the famous British singer, but he continued unfazed, unplugging the microphone that was at the 33-year-old's feet. In an Instagram post, the British artist said: "We had permission, so the fact that we were playing at this exact location was pre-planned, we didn't just show up by chance."
Sheeran is in India for the second year in a row on a 15-day tour, and at his Bengaluru show, he surprised fans by singing two local hit songs in Telugu with singer Shilpa Rao on stage.
Demand for live music concerts has increased in India, following Dua Lipa's recent performance in Mumbai and Coldplay's multi-city tour.
