The first week of February will also start the main festival of our neighbor, Italy.
Finally, for Sanremo 2024, the 74th edition of this festival, new details are being revealed.
For the first time, a record number of singers, a total of 30, will compete to receive the grand prize and to represent Italy in this year's Eurovision.
One of the most important decisions is changing the voting method. This year, in addition to the votes by messages from the public and the votes of the jury in the hall, online votes from the public and the votes of a second radio jury will be added. The latter will be representatives of the most important radio stations in the country.
The first night will be held on February 6th when 39 singers will perform who will then split into two halves to perform on Wednesday 7th and Thursday 8th February.
The novelty is the fact that in the intervening evenings, the artists who will not perform will appear on stage to introduce their successor. Friday, February 9, will be dedicated to the best artists in the country who have sealed the history of music.
Each evening will also have special guests such as: Giovanni Allevi, Russell Crow and Eros Ramazzotti, Roberto Bolle and Gigliola Cinquetti
Marco Mengoni, last year's winner, will be this year not only a special guest, but also a co-presenter of the first night.
Other names that will accompany the official presenter, Amadeus, on stage will be: Giorgia, Teresa Mannino, Lorella Cuçarini and Fiorello.
The 74th edition of Sanremo will be shown from February 6-10 on Rai1 and Rai2.
