A bright spiral appeared in the skies of Great Britain and Ireland two nights ago, raising big questions among residents of both countries.
There were many speculations, including UFOs, but experts from the British Meteorological Service explain that the cause of this unusual phenomenon is most likely due to the fumes from the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket.
The phenomenon was observed from Denmark to Milan and the spiral was visible for several minutes before disappearing, Sky News reported.
According to experts, frozen exhaust gases from the upper layers of the rocket create shapes in the atmosphere as they reflect sunlight, making them visible from Earth.
This effect occurs when fuel ejected from the upper stage of a rocket freezes instantly at high altitude, due to extreme air temperatures.
The Falcon 9 rocket was launched from Florida on Monday at around 5:50 p.m., as part of a US government mission.
