Vivian Wilson, the transgender daughter of renowned entrepreneur Elon Musk, has given an interview to The Cut, where she recounts her daily life, her complicated relationship with her family, and the challenges she has gone through after her gender transition.
At the dinner with the journalist, Vivian humorously talks about trying new foods, shares her passion for K-pop, computer games, and admits that her "social battery" often runs out. She lives simply, with three roommates in Los Angeles, and says that despite her famous last name, she doesn't have the financial luxury that people imagine.
In 2022, Vivian became world-famous after she asked to drop the Musk surname, stating that she did not want to be associated with her father. Their relationship has been completely severed, and Elon Musk's criticism of the "woke" was often linked to his daughter's decision. Vivian does not hesitate to call her father a "narcissist" and admits that the public outburst against him brought her relief, but also exposed her to numerous online attacks.
Today, she is trying to build her own identity. She has tried modeling, debuted in the drag scene and sees this as an important step towards self-acceptance. "I fought so hard to be seen as a normal person. And I miss that," says Vivian, adding that fame, despite the difficulties, has brought her new opportunities and income.
