The royal couple, Prince William and Princess Kate, along with their children, Prince George (12 years old), Princess Charlotte (10 years old) and Prince Louis (7 years old), have moved into Fort Lodge, a luxurious eight-bedroom villa within Windsor Great Park that they now consider their "forever home."
Because of this royal installation, two families who lived near this residence were asked to vacate their homes over the summer. “People were asked to leave. I think they were offered other houses to live in, but they didn’t expect this,” a source told British media.
Concerned about privacy and security, royal officials did not want nearby homes to be overcrowded. The families, who were tenants of the Crown Estate property, did not receive any official eviction notices and have already been moved to similar or better housing within the area.
William and Kate, both 43, are aiming for a fresh start at Fort Lodge and are reported to have covered the costs of the move themselves, at no cost to UK taxpayers.
