As if the controversies over the polluted Seine and rooms without air conditioning weren't enough, another attack on the organizers of the Paris Olympics comes from British swimmer Adam Peaty, silver medalist in the 100m.
Interviewed by Inews, Peaty bluntly complained about the catering service at the Olympic Village.
" The food is not good enough for the level expected by the athletes. In Tokyo the food was amazing. In Rio it was great. But this time? There weren't enough protein options, 30 minute waits for food because there is no queuing system ."
The athlete also had objections to the "green" and sustainability policies that inspired the organizers' choices of 60% meat-free meals and a third represented by vegetarian dishes.
" I want to eat meat ," Peaty said, adding, " I need meat to compete and I eat it at home, so why should I change anything? I like fish too, but people have found worms. Not good ".
Peaty is not the first to complain about the food intended for athletes in "Paris 2024".
